10 Cool Facts About the Human Body

1.  Our body's are so strong that if you take out your stomach , your kidney , 75% of your liver, 1 lung, 80% of the intestines and almost every single organ from your pelvic area , you WILL live! Our body's are that capable.
2.  Heart attacks have been proven to come on Mondays. They have been able to prove this after a 10 year study in Scottland that 20% of people die of a heart attack on a monday then any other day.
3. Baby's have more bones than we do ! When baby's are born, they are born with 300 bones, but when they get older into adulthood, their bones will fuse together and make 206 bones.
4. People can't die from not having food, but they can die from not having enough sleep. Some people say they are starving to death but in truth they are not, it may hurt from little food but it won't kill you, not sleeping will.

What is a Microscope?

          - Electron Microscope        An electron microscope uses a beam of sub-atomic particles (electrons)
that have been bent by a magnet in order to magnify really small things
                                                      like atoms.
In order to see the interior structure of organic cells in really great detail
requires at least 10,000X magnification and so the electron microscope
                                                      was invented.
- Light Microscope  http://www.unl.edu/CMRAcfem/em.htm

A light microscope uses light that is bent by special lenses to magnify small things.  The strength of the microscope is determined by the lenses and the amount of magnification is written right on them.  40X means the object being observed is being magnified 40 times it's real size.  The physics of light limit the magnifying power of light microscopes to 500X or 1000X.
